Yahoo has just released the English version of Yahoo Meme, but is currently available on an invitation-basis. Yahoo Meme is some kind of a microblogging platform, being a combination of Twitter and Tumblr, but it doesn’t seem to directly compete with any of the two services.

All you can do on Yahoo Meme is create a blog where you can write less than 100 characters, add images, videos or music, and an avatar. Also you can follow other people’s memes to get their updates. Yahoo Meme also has a “Repost” feature, which si something like Tumblr’s “Reblog” or Twitter’s “ReTweet”.

Yahoo Meme was launched first in Spanish, then Portugese and then it came in the English version. I’d bet it won’t take long until Yahoo Meme gets a silent shut down, as many other Yahoo apps which just didn’t work.
