Mysterious Nokia RX-51 Device Passes The FCC With Destination: T-Mobile
Nokia is beginning to catch our attention in the past few weeks as there are many devices which get approved by the FCC. Although there are many who are rather boring, there are some who deserve watchfullness including a so-called Nokia RX-51. This device just got its FCC certification, and apparently it’s not a phone as Nokia dubs its phones as “RM”, not “RX”. Six weeks ago Nokia and Intel announced a “mobile devices partnership”, but denied having a netbook or tablet in the making.
However there were a lot of rumors surrounding this matter, and there were some inside sources which said that the two giants are working in a netbook / tablet. That device might be the Nokia RX-51 which will feature AWS 3G meaning that it might go to T-Mobile. Also the ID placement document is not “positioned” where cellphones / smartphones should be therefore a Nokia Tablet could be in production.
A few days ago we’ve seen a report about a Nokia “superphone” based on Maemo 5 that is called Rover and which is heading to T-Mobile. Well, I think that the Nokia RX-51 is the Rover and that it will be an Internet Tablet based on Maemo 5 and that will be available for T-Mobile USA subscribers.
Its price? It’s too soon to talk about. Stay tuned, more information soon to follow.
